Biografia
Andrea Cherico nato a Treviglio nel 1991, inizia a studiare fotografia in giovane età, ma con la fine degli studi accantonerà questo interesse. Successivamente all’età di 22 anni riceverà in regalo da suo padre la sua prima macchina fotografica, che lo porterà ad avvicinarsi al mondo della fotografia.
Dopo esattamente un anno, per puro caso, assieme a degli amici si ritrova ad esplorare una fabbrica abbandonata e da qui inizierà subito un profondo interesse per questi luoghi dal quale si sentirà catturato dalla loro magia. Dopodiché quando visiterà per la prima volta “Consonno”, chiamata "la Las Vegas abbandonata nel Nord Italia" , si farà avvolgere da quella magia in grado di creare un'atmosfera unica. Il silenzio assordante, le loro pareti scrostate, le finestre rotte, i pavimenti polverosi e altrettanti elementi appaiono sospesi nel tempo e testimoniano silenziosamente un lasso di tempo passato che però non può più essere rivissuto ma solo immaginato .
Da ormai undici anni continua così il suo percorso fotografico viaggiando lungo la penisola italiana alla ricerca di questi spazi abbandonati a sé stessi e solitari, abbracciando così un linguaggio architettonico unico che si interroga sul trascorrere del tempo e sulle tracce del passato e dell’uomo.
Con i suoi lavori l'artista ci accompagna in un viaggio alla scoperta di questi luoghi dimenticati che entrando in punta di piedi in un mondo ormai dimenticato che è governato da ricordi, polvere ma soprattutto da una gloriosa decadenza.
La grandiosità e lo splendore architettonico di queste ricche residenze del XVII e XIX secolo sopravvivono attraverso i suoi scatti con il tentativo di cercare di catturare la loro essenza, così che le loro storie continuino a vivere per sempre in eterno.

Andrea Cherico, born in Treviglio in 1991, began studying photography at a young age but set aside this interest after finishing his studies. At the age of 22, he received his first camera as a gift from his father, sparking his renewed interest in the world of photography.
Exactly one year later, by pure chance, he found himself exploring an abandoned factory with friends. From that moment, he developed a profound fascination with such places, captivated by their unique magic. When he visited “Consonno” for the first time—known as the “abandoned Las Vegas of Northern Italy”—he was enveloped by its atmosphere, a combination of silence and forgotten grandeur. The deafening silence, crumbling walls, broken windows, dusty floors, and other suspended elements seemed frozen in time, bearing silent witness to a past that can no longer be relived but only imagined.
For the past eleven years, he has continued his photographic journey, traveling across the Italian peninsula in search of abandoned and solitary spaces. Through his work, he embraces a unique architectural language that reflects on the passage of time and the traces left behind by human life.
With his projects, the artist takes us on a journey to discover these forgotten places, delicately stepping into a world ruled by memories, dust, and, above all, a sense of glorious decay. The grandeur and architectural splendor of these opulent 17th- and 19th-century residences survive through his photographs, as he strives to capture their essence so that their stories may live on forever.
